MADAAR Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use the MADAAR app or this website.
1.Acceptance of these terms
By downloading, installing or using MADAAR, or by using madaar.app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or the website.
2.What MADAAR is
MADAAR is a mobile application published by Sama Digital Innovation L.L.C. It provides calculated prayer times, a Qibla compass, daily Athkar and a Quran reader. It is a tool to assist you. It is not a religious authority.
3.Religious content
MADAAR presents religious content for personal use. It does not interpret that content for you, and using the app does not replace guidance from a qualified scholar or your local religious authority.
4.Prayer time accuracy
Prayer times may differ according to calculation method and local religious authority. MADAAR calculates times using recognised methods and the location or city you provide, and offers manual adjustment.
Because methods, conventions and local rulings legitimately differ, times shown in MADAAR may not match those announced by your local mosque. Where a difference matters to you, follow your local authority.
5.Qibla compass accuracy
Qibla readings may be affected by device sensors, magnetic interference and environmental conditions. Metal structures, magnets in phone cases, vehicles and nearby electronics all change what a magnetometer reports.
The compass is an aid, not a survey instrument. We make no claim of perfect accuracy, and you should verify direction by another means where it is important to you.
6.Quran content and corrections
Quran text, translations and recitations shown in MADAAR are obtained from third-party sources. We take the integrity of that content seriously.
If you find any error in Quran text or a translation, report it to quran@madaar.app. Reports about Quran content are treated as a priority and are checked against the source before any change is made.
7.Your responsibility
You are responsible for choosing settings that suit you, for verifying anything that matters religiously with an appropriate authority, and for keeping your device permissions and time settings correct.
8.Notifications
Prayer notifications depend on your device operating system, notification permissions, silent and focus modes, battery optimisation and background activity limits. These are outside our control.
Do not rely on MADAAR as your only means of knowing that a prayer time has entered.
9.No medical advice
Nothing in MADAAR is medical or psychological advice, and no feature diagnoses or treats any condition. If you need help with your health, speak to a qualified professional.
10.No religious rulings
MADAAR does not issue fatwas or religious rulings and does not answer questions of fiqh. Content in the app is presented as reference material, not as a ruling for your situation.
11.Intellectual property
The MADAAR name, logo, interface design, original text and software are owned by Sama Digital Innovation L.L.C and are protected by applicable law. You may not copy, resell or redistribute them.
12.Third-party content and licences
Quran text, translations, recitation audio, fonts and mapping or calculation services used in MADAAR belong to their respective owners and are used under their own licences. Sama Digital Innovation does not claim ownership of that content, and your use of it is subject to the terms of the party that provides it.
13.Acceptable use
When using MADAAR, you agree not to:
- Alter, misrepresent or corrupt Quran text or any religious content in the app
- Reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app except where the law expressly allows it
- Interfere with the service, its infrastructure or other users
- Use the app or any content from it for unlawful purposes
- Extract content in bulk or redistribute it commercially without permission from the rights holder
14.Service availability
We aim to keep MADAAR and this website available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features that depend on the network, such as downloading recitations, require a working connection and a functioning third-party provider.
15.Updates and changes
We may update the app and these terms. When terms change materially we will revise the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use MADAAR after a change means you accept the updated terms.
16.Limitation of liability
MADAAR is provided on an “as is” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app, including loss caused by a missed notification, an inaccurate calculated time or an inaccurate compass reading.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
17.Termination
You may stop using MADAAR at any time by removing it from your device. We may suspend or end access where these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached, or where required by law.
18.Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of that jurisdiction have authority over disputes arising from them, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
Publication check: confirm the governing law and forum with legal counsel before publishing, and adjust site.config.ts accordingly.
